Assistance League® of Los Angeles’ mission is to improve the lives of impoverished children in Los Angeles. Last year, our programs served over 20,000 children! Through our signature program, Operation School Bell program, 5,300 homeless, impoverished, and disenfranchised elementary school children receive clothing and essentials items making it possible to attend school and focus on learning. The shocking reality is that some Los Angeles children do not have a pair of shoes or a toothbrush of their own. Volunteers will assist Operation School Bell by assembling and preparing basic necessities such as hygienic items and footwear to change that reality. This project is essential to running an efficient operation so that we may increase program delivery to Los Angeles youth.
Please note: The clients will not be on site for this project, however, volunteers are welcome to visit during the week to experience the Operation School Bell in action. This project is ideal for families and friends to volunteer together in a comfortable indoor environment. All ages are welcome!
Special Instructions: Parking is available in the building’s lot and on the street. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Coffee, snacks and bottled water will be provided.
