Friends Who Are Going
Event description

This December, we Feminists take a safari to the MAASAI MARA, the 8th wonder of the world.

Its been a long year for all feminists in the struggle for equality and in need for a breather so as to take on the next year with a Bang. A lot of ground has been covered and a lot more will be covered. But for now we rest a bit. We go on SAFARI!

The safari will begin in Nairobi where you will be picked up from the airport and taken to Loita hills to a camp site deep within maasai lands in a village operated by the maasai village where you will be staying with the maasai people in their village

A stay here will immerse you not only in the intense natural beauty of the Loita Hills, but also in the ancient culture and knowledge of the Maasai. Sankale Ole Ntutu is your chief host. He is a Masai tribesman from the Purko clan.

Born in Maji Moto, his grandmother nurtured a passion in him for knowledge of the natural world, its plants and animals, and their ways and uses. The Masai staff are quick to share their world, and visits to their compounds, school or the village happen as easily as walking a path, listening to Sankale as he leads you through his homeland.

The drive from Nairobi includes the stunning views from and descent down the Great Rift Valley Escarpment.

All structures are built Masai-style using only local materials such as branches and stalks, grass, cow dung and stone

Fresh food is brought each day from the nearest town. All meals are prepared by the camp's Masai cook in a simple but delicious way, blending traditional Kenyan and international cuisine.

There is no generator in the camp. Candles, lanterns and camp fires are used for light in the evening. For the camp fire, only dry fallen wood and “green charcoal briquettes” are used. Small solar panels provide

Water for showers is brought from the natural hot spring, a very special treat! We also encourage our guests to take a dip in the spring in the evening.

Pick up from the airport to the maasai village. You are requested to be at the airport by 12pm as we will leave for the village at exactly 1pm so as to arrive by 4pm.

The first night will be to acquaint yourself with the maasai people and for the traditional dance welcome of visitors to their village

One of the simplest activities is enjoying a Sundowner, gazing west over the savannah towards the Masai Mara and the setting sun

We will depart from the village to enter the maasai mara where you will go on a hot air balloon safari that will last an hour or so with views of the thousands and thousands of animals in the maasai mara which will later on be accompanied by champagne breakfast.

Afterwards we will undertake a land rover safari in the mara to interact closely with the animals especially cheetahs which are known to jump on top of vehicles to cool down. It is perfectly safe. This will be a full day experience

In the evening we will return to the maasai village and spend the night in the village dancing and eating traditional food by the bonfire with the village.

The village has absolutely no electricity, you will be fully immersed in the full experience of the maasai mara with the maasai people

On the third day we will take the maasai warriors who will lead us through the wild on a wildlife tracking mission where we will interact with giraffes, elephants and many more animals

Walk with Maasai warriors through the hills, observing plants and animals through Masai eyes. You will get the knowledge of the Maasai culture, the natural world, its plants, animals and their uses.

You may use the mountain bike that will be provided for.

That night we will return to the camp where we will have a shower at the hot spring in the village as well as take a night safari in our land rover and see the wild animals in their natural surroundings in the cover of night.

And on this night at 12 am, under the star filled sky and the light from the moon.....at the singing of the maasai women and the dancing of the maasai warriors.... At the beat of the drums and the roars of the lions we shall mount the king sized portraits to the stake of the following men and burn them. They are a representation of what feminists from all over the world oppose and fight against everyday. Their portraits will be a representation of what feminists will overcome!

  1. Bill O'Riley
  2. Bill Cosby
  3. Harvey Weinstein
  4. James Toback
  5. Chris savino

We shall drink, dance and be merry the whole night till the dawn!

And for all those who use the hashtag #fuckbill to express their stand for gender equality will stand a chance at a fully paid SAFARI!

And for all who get a friend to buy a ticket and join us will get a free hot air balloon safari across the Mara worth $450.

We will visit the local primary school and you may contribute and sponsor a child if you so wish.

We will leave for Nairobi where we will go to David sheldrick wildlife trust where you will adopt your very own orphaned baby elephant that will be yours for life and you will get updates on its wellbeing on a weekly basis. You will receive special privileges of seeing your elephant at 5 o’clock when they are fed and go for mud bathing

We will also visit the giraffe Centre where we will interact with giraffes. You will feed them and if you like, kiss them. Kissing a giraffe is a once in a life time experience

If time will allow we will go to mamba village (crocodile village) and see the hundreds of crocodiles with their full power.

Later we will take you to the airport where we will say goodbye.

No children under the age if 16 years allowed.

The activities will be undertaken deep in the mara far away from all towns and activities happening in the country

I hope we get to see you soon!!
