About this event
When we look at US and UK regulations, there are clearly differences but do these differences fundamentally alter outcomes, with regard to food safety or are they more about different regulatory pathways to a common end point?
Using some key topics as examples, our expert speakers will explore the science behind the legislative framework and the impact on food safety.
- Kantha Shelke (Johns Hopkins University, USA) will set the scene and talk about the influence of science communication and societal understanding on regulations
- Helen Munday (Food and Drink Federation, UK) will talk about chlorine washed chicken, touching on animal welfare, regulation and voluntary schemes
- Jack Bobo (Futurity, USA) will explore the topic of hormones and pesticides, including glyphosate and noenicitinoids
We will end with 25 minutes of discussion, so bring along any questions you would like to ask!
