Chris is a life-long sailor from Bay Head, NJ. Chris started out in small one design dinghies (Sunfish, Blue Jay, Lighting , Laser) on the Metedeconk River and progressed into windsurfing (Windsurfer, Mistral Super Light) and then collegiate sailing at St. Mary’s College of Md.(FJ, 420) . In later years he has raced various one-design keelboats (J24, J105, J120, and the Henderson 30).
Since attending college and running his first team race over 20 years ago, Chris has been involved in race administration. This includes being a US Sailing Certified Regional Race Officer, Senior Judge and National Umpire and ISAF International Umpire. He has served on the US Sailing Judges Committee, chaired the BBYRA Appeals Committee, and has taught many US Sailing Judges Workshops.
Chris is now the US Sailing Race Administration Director in Portsmouth. Working with the Rules, Appeals, Race Management, Judges and Umpires committees, Chris’s goals are to streamline the race administration process and make it more enjoyable and easier for all of our volunteers and racers whom they support.
