Description

The Dred Scott Decision was one of the most important cases ever tried in the United States. Scott sued his master for freedom, a case that was decided by the Supreme Court in 1857. This decision in credited in hastening the start of the Civil War. Jeff Hines, a descendant of Peter Blow, Dred Scott’s owner, will lead a presentation and discussion of the historic case, his books regarding Scott and Blow’s genealogy, and soon to be released movie based on one of the books at the Cypress Library on Sunday, December 4th at 2:30 pm. The Cypress Library is located at 5331 Orange Avenue, in Cypress, CA.

Come meet author, historian, and genealogist, Jeff Hines. He will have copies of his books available for sale and autograph.
