“U.S.-German Relations after the Election— With Emphasis on Trade and Economic Issues”


Mr. Boris Ruge has been the Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the German Embassy in Washington, DC since 2016. Before his appointment in Washington, DC, he was the German Ambassador to Saudi-Arabia and Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation from 2014 to 2016. From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Ruge served as the Director of the German Foreign Office for the Middle East/North Africa. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cologne University, and holds graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Johns Hopkins University.
