What? USACE Rock Island Business Opportunities Open House
When? February 18, 2020 0800-1200
Where? Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center, Bettendorf, IA
The Rock Island District will be hosting a Business Opportunities Open House which will give contractors (large and small) the opportunity to engage in an open house/reverse trade show setting with main program areas supporting the district mission, contracting, small business office, and key leadership. You will also have the opportunity to network with some of the district's large business contractors and others in attendance for potential partnership opportunities.
There will also be informal discussion groups on a variety of topics led by USACE personnel and resource partners throughout the event. These discussion groups will help understand how to do business better with the Corps and other Federal agencies.

You are welcome to come for the entire event or for as long as you need to make good internal and external connections.

USACE Rock Island Program Areas Confirmed:

Navigation-

1. Operations & Maintenance Large Construction (Ex: Locks/Dam Maintenance)

2. Operations & Maintenance Construction/Trades (Project Office HVAC/Electrical/Roofing/Facilities, Dock Walls, Concrete work, temporary buildings)

3. Operations & Maintenance Small Purchases (Supplies/Services)

Recreation-

1. Lakes Management Non-Construction (Mowing, Custodial, Supplies etc.)

2. Lakes Management- Construction/Rehabilitation Projects for reservoirs (Dam maintenance, erosion, trails, roads maintenance, sewage lagoon maintenance)

3. Visitor Center

Flood Risk Management-

1. Cedar Rapids, IA Flood Risk Management Program (City/USACE Partnership for a number of construction projects including road closures, railroad closures, levees, pump stations etc.)

2. National Flood Fight Materiel Center (Contracts and deploys a variety of flood fight products across the country, products warehoused in Rock Island).

3. PL 84-99 Program (Allows partnerships with levee and sanitation districts to assist with construction portion of flood recovery efforts including earthwork, levee repair/rebuild, pump station repairs etc.)

Environmental/Cultural

1. Upper Mississippi River Restoration Program (construction projects focused on ecological remediation)

Support to Military Programs

1. 88th Reserve Support Command (Facilities renovation supporting external customers for buildings in Midwest, including HVAC, Electrical, Vehicle Exhaust, Minor Remodeling, Parking Lots)

2. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) PENDING- Currently work in Iowa City, IA region supporting VA facilities with minor facilities renovation including parking lots, elevator, HVAC etc.

Other-

1. District Training Coordinator (Assists district with training needs, leadership related, technical experts etc.)

2. Facilities Operations (District HQ facilities requirements including small requirements -steps repair, painting, HVAC, office moves- as well as planning for large HQ facilities upgrades and renovations such as office remodels, roofing repairs, conference room renovations)

3. District credit card manager (Trains and monitors for compliance all credit card purchasing within the district boundaries currently purchases under $10K which represents various supply and service purchases to support operations at field sites and within the HQ building)

4. Construction Office- Provides post award monitoring and assistance for construction projects and can assist companies with "need to know" information to success on Corps construction projects

5. Engineering Office- Provides design assistance for contract plans and specifications, and can also provide information to contractors re: processes for outsourcing engineering requirements as well as potentially getting specific products "spec'ed" into plans.
