The program offers workshops and related services along the continuum of “Education, Resources and Support” for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs;

  • Education includes entrepreneurial, business and personal financial education.

  • Resources include opportunities for access to capital and business networks.

  • Support includes personal financial coaching, business coaching and mentoring.

UrbanPreneur University uses the FDIC’s Money Smart for Small Business (MSSB) curriculum as the educational foundation for the program as it provides for more advanced training and technical assistance, and provides a practical introduction to topics related to starting and managing a business. There will also be opportunities for participants to attend additional events, workshops and webinars for a deeper dive into business related planning and activities.

The training program is strictly educational (marketing and/or selling to participants is strictly prohibited) and workshops are facilitated by business and financial services professionals that are willing to volunteer a few hours of their time to share their sector expertise, experience and insight to help guide program participants along the path towards entrepreneurial and small business success.
