Event description
End of summer getting you down? Fear not, we have just the thing: tickets for our next UrbanistasLDN's Expo 31.0 are now on sale!

About this Event

As ever, we have a terrific line-up of pitches:

Lisa Taylor is founder of Coherent Cities & former CEO of Future of London, where, among other things, she created the Speaker Diversity Network, backed by the Mayor of London. She wants to tap your inner map geek for workshop ideas for the 9th Dec #MapLondon conference, designed to help digital mapping build better cities. As a straight-talking Canadian now back in the world of Having a Public Opinion, she also wants to kick off a debate about how professional women demarcate those public views. When must we say something (and who influences that)? Where’s the line at which you start to bleed clients or audience? Who and what do you gain by being outspoken?

Charlotte Morphet is a Principal Policy Planner at London Borough of Waltham Forest and National Co-Chair of Women in Planning. Charlotte is currently working on an idea how to increase meaningful engagement with communities in development processes, regeneration and generally shaping the places that they live in. The idea is to increase the understanding of developers and Councils in the wider value of meaningful engagement and what return on investment they get through producing a tool kit. The project is at early stages and Charlotte is seeking advice on the feasibility and the direction of travel it should take.

Kirsty Kenney is leading a research project for Resi, the UK’s leading architecture practice for everyday homeowners, to look at The Science of Happy Home. The research focuses on how we optimise spaces for happiness and wellbeing, contextualised within the intimacy of our own homes. Resi's emerging evidence has been developed through a review of academic studies, a survey of the public at large and interviews with Resi clients about what works (and what doesn't). Resi is now ready to share some of our early findings and Kirsty is all ears to your reflections, insights and feedback!

It's going to be a good one - can't wait to see you all there!
