ABSTRACT

Which is bigger, Smart Cities or Urban Tech? One has attracted more than $100 billion in private investment, and the other is estimated at over $100 billion market globally. How do these concepts relate? Where is the opportunity for greatest innovation and impact? Participants in this workshop will jointly distinguish these and related terms, look at potential customers and business models, and identify areas for further individual exploration. We will dive into specific intersections of technology and public policy, including dissections of "anti-urban tech." Following the workshop, participants will each have a road map to deepen their technological, investing, or policy engagement.
