URBAN NUTCRACKER 2022

This soulful celebration takes place on Atlanta's own Sweet Auburn Avenue in the 1940s. Step back into time at Urban Nutcracker as the Johnson family celebrates the holiday with the mysterious Professor Isaac, who presents Sarah with a special gift, a Nutcracker Doll in the image of Marcus Garvey. The family and party guests are entertained by several dance routines and a dreamlike performance by dancers in the Snow. The Chocolatier sweeps Brown Sugar off to a magical land filled with performances by Flowers, Arabians, and the spinning Black Russians. This fresh take remixes the classical ballet with a fusion of modern, jazz, and tap for a fun new experience that captures all the magic of the original. Enjoy the majestic journey and whimsical and mysterious characters, such as Mother Spice and her tumbling Spice Drops and the bubbly Coca-Cola Pas de Six, and a grand finale with the Chocolatier and Brown Sugar.
