URBAN GARDENING & THE FUTURE OF SCONES
Event Information
Description
Join SCONELY and Community Healing Gardens (CHG) for an morning of gardening street side in Venice and artisanal scone tasting.
We will meet up for scones and coffee talk then tour the colorful streets of Venice where the community raised garden boxes grow fresh organic produce. Then its time to get dirty together as we plant, prune and harvest with the CHG team!
Sconely will serve up delicious sweet and savory scones, such as sun-dried tomato, goat cheese and fresh herbs, made with rosemary, basil and thyme grown by Community Healing Gardens. Plant-based and gluten-free options will be available.
A portion of the proceeds from this experience goes towards the non-profit Community Healing Garden’s programs aiding disadvantaged youth and adults to get back to nature, learn urban gardening skills and grow food. CHG harvests the food grown street side and donates it to a local Venice kitchen that feeds up to 150 homeless and transitioning men and women a day.
Together Sconely and CHG are forging a new path through growing local food systems while building community.
