for Re-Planting of the Urban Farm
in Downtown Boynton Beach (on S.E. 3rd Street)

The non-profit Museum of Lifestyle & Fashion History (MLFH) conducts the Taste History Culinary Tours. MLFH has adopted the Urban Farm in Boynton Beach for its re-planting is coordinating the volunteers for on Saturday, September 7, 2013. People are invited to volunteer for the re-planting. It will be a rewarding learning experience. The re-planting of the Urban Farm will expose volunteers to agriculture, locally grown foods, fruits and vegetables and sustainability efforts for local and Urban Farms. The Urban Farm is operated by the non-profit Boynton Community Caring Center. MLFH/Taste History proud to have adopted the Urban Farm for the re-planting on September 7th. Here are more specifics about volunteering:
- Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 8am to 12 noon (Saturday, September 21st is rain date)
- Volunteers need to wear a light cotton shirt (preferably long sleeves for better insulation and sun protection)
- Volunteers need to eat breakfast and drink at least 8 0z of water before arriving
- Volunteers need to bring hats and wear sunscreen and wear bug repellent
- Volunteers need to bring their own gardening gloves
- Urban Farm organization will provide all gardening tools
- Urban Farm organization will provide bathrooms
- Urban Farm organization will provide water and brunch on-site
- Urban Farm is operated by the non-profit Boynton Community Caring Center
- IMPORTANT: The re-planting involves physical activity that includes volunteers shoveling, raking, and bending over to pull weeds and plant seeds.
- Volunteer sign-up is required and is done on-line. Volunteer spaces are limited
- Location of farm is on SE 3rd Street between E. Boynton Beach Blvd. & Ocean Avenue in Downtown Boynton Beach. Public parking is located near the Urban Farm on S.E. 3rd Street or park at the Secret Garden Café located at 410 E. Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach (its near railroad tracks).Volunteers can walk a short distance to farm.
