Event Details

What happens to American cities when industry leaves?

Through the lens of the textile industry, Sasaki’s Urban Fabric project  investigates the social, economic, and environmental conditions of three prototypical manufacturing cities and presents a selection of case studies from around the world of potential strategies for the future.

What is the future of American manufacturing?

Beginning November 3, the Urban Fabric work will be shown in Sasaki’s San Francisco office, where we will look at the future of urban manufacturing in our ‘post-industrial’ economy. The exhibit opening will include a presentation of the Urban Fabric work, and a response and discussion of current growth and work in the local manufacturing sector by Kate Sofis, Executive Director of SFMade.

Speakers:
Alexis Canter, Sasaki
Gina Ford, Sasaki
Eamonn Hutton, Sasaki
Kate Sofis, SF Made

Doors open at 5 pm, speakers will start promptly at 6 pm. Refreshments provided.
