Islington Mill has step-free access to the cobbled courtyard or studio where the sessions take place. Urban Bodgers are a neuroqueer group, meaning that we are neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+. If you have any specific access requirements please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Bodgers were itinerant woodland workers who carried their sharp-edged tools between jobs, making everything else they needed from the trees at each site. While the term has been negated to mean 'a bad job', it really means 'making the most of what you have to hand, while caring for biodiversity' <3

Our monthly sessions are purely to make-in-company, so are free to join. Bring your own tools and projects along, and share what you know with the group.

Urban Bodgers is a new monthly meetup of neuroqueer whittlers, bodgers and heritage crafts folk, at Islington Mill Art Academy in Salford.

Are you neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+? Do you live in the city and yearn for the woodlands? We do!

Urban Bodgers is a new monthly gathering of neuroqueer green woodworkers and heritage crafts makers. We meet on the second Sunday of every month at the beautiful heritage listed Islington Mill in Salford. Bring your tools and projects along to whittle in company!
