The Whittier Uptown Association would like to extend a warm invitation to you to join us at our Annual Uptown Whittier Christmas Parade. We invite you to come early, do some shopping, enjoy our fine restaurants, and get a good spot on the parade route!
The Parade will take place Rain or Shine!!
Attracting nearly 10,000+ parade watchers each year, the Uptown Whittier Christmas Parade is a community-wide celebration. The Parade will include marching bands, vintage automobiles, local dignitaries, floats, equestrians, civic groups, dance troupes, drill teams, marching bands and Santa Claus himself!
The Annual Uptown Whittier Christmas Parade promises to bring a smile to every face and plenty of warmth on a chilly December morning.
VOLUNTEERS are needed! Your help is vital to making this year’s 63rd Annual Uptown Whittier Christmas Parade a success! Volunteers are needed along the parade route, in the staging areas, for setting up, and returning the route to pre-event condition. All volunteers will receive a food voucher and staff shirt. We will also verify your participation if you are in need of community/volunteer hours. Your Volunteer Shift is from 7:00am-1:00pm. This is a great opportunity for community groups, clubs, or other organizations to work as a team and support the community.
The Christmas Parade Committee and the Whittier Uptown Association invite you to become a part of this special Whittier tradition. We anticipate lots of great entries this year! The theme is “An Old Time in Uptown”.
The parade will once again take place in Historic Uptown Whittier, staging along Comstock and Broadway, and travelling along Greenleaf and Mar Vista.
The parade is scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, 10:00am-Noon, Rain or Shine.
