Event description

Description

The Farmington Valley Links continue their global awareness series on Sunday, March 3rd at St. John’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford, CT. Global LINKages (previously named Sundays@4) was started 28 years ago by the Farmington Valley chapter of the Links, Incorporated with a mission to inspire, enhance and enrich the Greater Hartford community through the sharing of current trends and topics related to people of African descent around the globe.

The March 3rd program commemorates the arrival of the first Africans to Colonial America which occurred exactly 400 years ago in 1619. “Upon These Shores” will feature Dr. Benjamin Foster Jr. who will discuss the significance of mandating this history to be included into the curricula of CT schools and how its implementation into the curricula will build public knowledge about the contributions, status, and history of our nation’s African descendants.

Global LINKages is free and open to the public with easy parking at the St. John’s Episcopal Church at 679 Farmington Ave in West Hartford, CT. All programs begin at 2pm.
