Event description

Description

Please note: This event is for WOMEN Attendees ONLY

In today’s political climate, it is imperative we come together as a community to learn about each other and find answers to things we do not understand. Misunderstanding and ignorance so often generate fear and dissention on our cities, schools and communities.

Come together with your sisters in community to learn about Islam; why some women Veil, and some do not. Hear stories of faith and resiliency from our community—and have the opportunity to ask questions and learn in a judgement-free, feminine space. Expect powerful conversations!!

A Middle Eastern dinner will be served, with tea and Baklawa

Live music will be provided by an all-female band "Ruya" ( "DREAM" in Turkish), as well as dance performances from Somalia, the Oromo Community and others to be announced!

Be prepared to dance and make new friends!!

Special thanks to the City of Denver. Office for Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, and the Denver Refugee and Immigrant Commission for funding this special event!
