Event description
Untold Stories: Time Capsule 1788. After school history and craft series.

About this event

What better way to learn history than through using actual historical artifacts and creating crafts to instill knowledge? Untold Stories is Pejepscot History Center's history and craft program for Grades 3-5. Sessions are limited to 15 children per session. We reserve the right to change attendance limits due to Covid.

Our first Untold Stories session of 2022 is:

Time Capsule: 1788, taught by James Tanzer

on Thursday, February 3, from 3:30-5pm

Does your child have a favorite possession? What makes it so special to them? In this session, they'll discover the possessions that were important to Quash Winchell, a formerly enslaved Black man who lived in Topsham in the 1700s. They’ll be able to see and touch some of the kinds of possessions Quash owned, and we’ll talk about the stories they might tell us about him.

Have your child bring a favorite possession of their own to share, and they'll make a mini time capsule to take home!
