Event description

Description

Unspoken: What will become of me? features art, activities, information forums and performance to create awareness and understanding of the value of end of life conversations. All too often, these conversations are initiated in clinical settings when there is an impending health crisis or trauma.

So why aren’t we all on board with initiatives that can give us more control at an important time in our life? Are we even aware that we can have more control? And if we are aware, why don’t we talk about it?

End of life conversations are sometimes difficult and always very personal but they can provide peace of mind that personal preferences, values and beliefs will be respected at a time when you may not be able to express your thoughts and feelings.

Unspoken: What will become of me? explores the themes of ageing, declining capacity, diminished autonomy and sense of identity gently and with humour. It focuses at times on rational thought and at other times on feelings and fears. It is an opportunity for people to gather their thoughts and gather information from peer-educators, and maybe even be inspired to take action.

This is a free event. The event features a performance by Born In A Taxi, activities and installations and opportunities to attend information forums.
