Event description
Providence Health, partnered with ChisholmTAFE, presents a training workshop on mastering the aetiology of disabilities in NDIS applications

About this Event

Providence Health is a GP-led registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) service provider- the only one of its kind currently in Australia. It understands the NDIS application process can be long, complex and fraught with misunderstanding. So, it has built a growing reputation championing quality, evidence-based practice to support the aetiology needed to support robust NDIS applications.

Providence Health’s GPs, nurses, allied health professionals are supported by a multi-disciplinary team of social work case managers that help decipher the NDIS frameworks and guidelines to ensure the greatest level of success based on the quality of evidence submitted.

Providence Health, in partnership with Chisholm Institute of TAFE, is presenting a series of masterclasses aimed at GPs, allied health professionals, welfare agencies and community stakeholders.

Titled “NDIS UNPACKED,” each master class breaks down the specific critical information needed to improve people’s understanding and decision making surrounding the NDIS. Backed up by anecdotal evidence gained from first hand experience, industry statistics and personally shared stories, Providence Health aims provide tangible hacks on how to navigate through the NDIS.

With the ever-growing number of employees of organisations and advocates of clients required to take on the role of helping fulfil NDIS application requirements, the first masterclass focused on “MASTERING THE AETIOLOGY OF DISABILITIES IN NDIS APPLICATIONS” is therefore a MUST.

Key areas of discussion include:

- What is aetiology?

- The crucial role of aetiology in NDIS applications

- The 5 pillars of good evidence to support NDIS applications

- Connecting and triaging service providers to deliver the best evidence

- The important role of medical, health and welfare agents

- The important role of families, friends and community advocates

- Case studies of common and unique disabilities

- Planning for a successful NDIS application

This 3-hour masterclass event includes tea and water amenities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network and exchange information with others prior to the start. Furthermore, handouts and step by step guides will be given to complement the Q&A at the end.
