Event Details

Hosted by Mental Health and Ministry, "Unmasking Stigma" is a conference that aims to join mental health providers and communities of faith.

The event will feature speakers and exhibitors that represent backgrounds in mental health, social work, ministry, as well as individuals that are living with  mental health diagnoses. Unmasking Stigma aligns with the mission of the P.R.E.A.C.H. Alliance which focuses on providing resources, education, acceptance, counseling and healing.

Beginning 02/23/2018 at 7:00 P.M.  a GALA fundraiser themed "Expressions of Worship, Healing & Recovery" will be held. The evening will include expressions of praise and worship through song,  liturgical dance, spoken word and poetry.  Refreshments will be served. MENTAL HEALTH AND MINISTRY IS A TAGLINE THAT I STARTED USING ACROSS SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS THAT EMBODIES MY PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE AND APPROACH TO SOCIAL WORK. MENTAL HEALTH IS ONE SPECIFIC MINISTRY THAT GOD HAS CALLED ME TO, MORE IMPORTANTLY, MENTAL HEALTH SHOULD BE A PRIORITY FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST! AS A CHRISTIAN, I AM THE HANDS AND FEET OF CHRIST AND I WHOLEHEARTEDLY BELIEVE IN EXTENDING THE UNCONDITIONAL GRACE OF GOD TO EVERYONE THAT I ENCOUNTER. THROUGH COLLABORATION AND EDUCATION, MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND MINISTRIES CAN WORK TOGETHER TO REDUCE STIGMA.
