Every term, UNM PE-AP enrolls 6,000 students in a variety of physically active courses. Of these, 400-600 enroll in dance fitness. We encourage these students to engage with community professionals, joining us at UNM as Presenters and Exhibitors, to foster this fit lifestyle after UNM. Ticket funds support growth of UNM PE-AP educational programming and future public events.

ABOUT LOUIS VAN AMSTEL
This first annual UNM Dance Fitness Clinic is inspired by our Keynote Presenter, Louis van Amstel. Van Amstel is a 7-time National and 3-time World Dance Champion. An educator to the pros and the first professional dancer recruited for Dancing with the Stars, Van Amstel is currently the creator of LaBlast Fitness and has trained over 1,300 fitness and dance professionals in the LaBlast program since 2007.
LABLAST FITNESS AT UNM
LaBlast was integrated into UNM PE-NP "Beginning Ballroom" curriculum in 2014 as a new method of teaching partner-free, skill-based dance taught to a variety of popular yet positive music genres and yields outstanding benefits: improved blood pressure, stamina, flexibility, strength, cardiovascular endurance, all while students learn the true skill of Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha, Tango, Jive, Disco, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and more.
The mission of LaBlast is simple: to get people moving from all corners of the world, regardless of their fitness level, age, or backgrounds, all through the power of dance. LaBlast is a partner-free program anyone can participate in and learn true dance skill, get fit, and have fun.
The UNM Dance Fitness Clinic will be host to a variety of students, educators, instructors, organizations, schools, and businesses during our event. For details other individual tickets available here, please email email@example.com.
