We are so pleased that Dr. Fran Corvasce, a Teaching Matters’ Social Studies Consultant and an expert on the Social Studies Scope and Sequence, will conduct an in-depth exploration of the content and implications for instruction of the document. What is the rationale for the scope and sequence? How does the document integrate content and skills? What are the connections with the Common Core Learning Standards for Literacy and Social Studies? What are the implications for instruction? Dr. Corvasce will lead an interactive session that addresses these and other questions. Participants will engage in hands-on activities that foster a deeper understanding of purpose and implications of the scope and sequence and develop alignment matrices and a model unit plan of instruction.
