Black and Latino men and women are the people most impacted by mass incarceration, therefore as we celebrate Latino Heritage Month we want to use this platform to outline the various benefits of facilitating access to higher education for the people who have criminal justice involvement. The discussion will also seek to outline the consequences which arise when institutions of higher education ask formerly incarnated individuals to disclose their justice involvement and the unforeseen collateral consequences on society.
Additionally, this important discussion will draw on the wisdom of its diverse panelists, to propose solutions in increasing access to higher education, and to discuss current efforts to do so.
