Event description
Gain insight into international development careers based out of Halifax through speed-connecting with international professionals

About this Event

On March 6 2019, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., the Halifax Branch of the CIC and the Halifax Partnership will jointly host a networking event for students, new graduates and others with an interest in careers in international non-profit work and international development.

International development professionals will provide information on their careers as well as ideas and tips for building an international career in Nova Scotia and abroad.

Experts may include:

  • Current and former UN officials;
  • NGO staff, and;
  • International development entrepreneurs.

To provide insight as to how they developed their careers in the field.

Participants may come from diverse fields, including political science, international development, law, and economics and will all have an interest in pursuing a career internationally.

The format for this event will include a reception with light snacks & refreshments, as well as three 20-minute small group discussions with an industry professional. Per round of speed-connecting, each professional will have their own table with space for 2-4 participants to join them.

This provides an opportunity for participants to learn about the professional’s role in detail and gain knowledge about the industry they work in. We will have three different rounds, with more informal networking breaks in between sessions.

We hope to see you there!
