Unleashing Potential: Eliminating Barriers to Opportunity
Tue, May 16, 2017, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM CDT
Join AFF-Dallas and the Heritage Foundation for an engaging conversation with Romina Boccia, Deputy Director, Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies and Grover M. Hermann Research Fellow!
According to Romina, government creates its own constituency for welfare programs by blocking people's pathways to economic opportunity. From zoning rules to occupational licensing to regulatory overreach and high tax cliffs, government puts up barriers for people to make an honest living, using their own skills and aptitudes. Too often, government employs its coercive mechanisms to block economic activity in the service of special interest groups, who use public officials to eliminate their competition. We can unleash people's potential and release economic growth and prosperity by eliminating unfair barriers to economic opportunity. Join AFF Dallas for an engaging conversation on how we can improve the lives of all people!
As usual, this event will feature light appetizers and an open bar. Free parking is provided in the lot next to the restaurant.
