Event description

Description

Join us on Saturday the 2nd of November in the beautiful Ashe house to “Unleash Your Creativity”.

This unique one day workshop combines the teachings of Kundalini yoga, meditation and the art of macramé.

Why is creativity important? Because it keeps life interesting and fulfilling. Creativity is not just about creating a beautiful picture or writing a poem it is so much more. Every day we are creating our lives with every thought and every decision we make. Creativity expands your perception, helps you to problem solve, think for yourself, and create the path in life that is true to you.

"Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up."-Pablo Picasso

What is Macrame?

Macrame is the ancient art of knotting fibres to create a variety of beautiful creations, in this workshop you will create a wall hanging to take home.

Creating your own Macrame piece can be very calming and soothing to the body, mind and spirit. It is a therapeutic art by nature. For the mind and spirit the repetitive knots used to create designs helps you drop into a meditative space, thus bringing with it peace and calmness of the mind. For the body the pulling and working of cords help to strengthen the hands and arms, it also helps to loosen the joints.

What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is considered one of the most comprehensive forms of all yoga traditions; it combines meditation, mantra, physical postures, and breathing techniques to elevate the mind body and spirit. Said to be the ‘Mother’ of all yoga, and considered 16 times more powerful than Hatha yoga, it is a safe way to harness our energetic potential for sustainable personal growth and healing to live a happy, healthy and holistic lifestyle.

About Us

Chris and Tash, we are two lifelong friends from Rush, Co. Dublin.

Once we discovered macrame we immediately fell in love with this wonderful and versatile craft. It allowed us to express our own creativity in many different ways. So after years of working in various corporate roles we decided to take the leap of faith and set up Gra agus Sonas Creations. ‘Gra’ meaning love and ‘Sonas’ meaning happiness, these are two important words to us. This craft has opened up so many opportunities for us and we continue to push the boundaries as macramé artists. It’s such a versatile craft to learn and doesn’t require a lot of tools, just your hands, some cord and your imagination!

Yew Tree Yoga is ran by Tash, who is a trained Kundalini yoga and meditation teacher. We believe that macramé and yoga are a perfect match for each other. You can connect with yourself, stretch, calm the mind, deeply relax, unleash your creativity and make a beautiful piece of art that you will cherish for years to come.

We can’t wait to share this unique skill with you.

"You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have."
