A discussion of the University Climate Ambassador program, connecting students with campus stakeholders to impact sustainable change today.
About this event
The University Climate Ambassador program seeks to accelerate sustainable impact in the realm of higher education by bringing together the generation of passion (students) with the generation of power (faculty/staff) on a given campus and between campuses. Our first goal is to empower students to unlock the skills needed to sustainably better the world around them, starting on their very own college campuses, and thereby evolve into the next generation of environmental leaders. Together, we work to systematically implement sustainable initiatives in every aspect of university administration, campus culture, student affairs, including curriculum, dining, energy, student life, and long-term planning.
To achieve this impact, collaboration is at the forefront of our efforts, and we work to align other students, student groups, faculty, and staff, both within a given campus and between campuses all around the country. By sharing the most innovative strategies among the people most passionate about protecting our future, we are mobilizing for a long-lasting wave of action and impact. With representation on over 30 campuses, and connections on countless others, we are fostering a growing network where we share best practices from coast to coast and celebrate the innovation undertaken by those who pioneered the most effective strategies in a given impact area. Together, we are stronger, and we will accelerate progress for a greener future.
Learn more about the program itself, key milestones, and what it takes to be a student ambassador or faculty/staff advisor in this informational session on Thursday, August 11th from 1:30-2:30pm. Hear from the Director of the University Climate Ambassador program, Hadley Willman, and a panel of influential ambassadors in a guided 45 minute presentation, followed by a moderated Q&A.
This session is free and open for all interested individuals. There is an optional donation ticket, where you may choose to support the maintenance and expansion of this program. The Global Climate Pledge is a nonprofit and appreciates any support we receive.
