Let’s hear and discuss how higher education can benefit joining the makers movement!

About this Event

Maker movement is gaining back its popularity since the major innovators like Albert Einstein or Steve Jobs were learning and discovering through their hands-on experiences in labs and garages. 🙌 Higher education needs to embrace makers experience to stay attractive, inclusive and educating new generations of innovators. 💡“HEI makers” final conference is inviting university lecturers, administrative staff, students to discuss how higher education can benefit joining the makers movement.👨‍💼💬

10:30 - 11:00 | History of makers movement :: tbc (Lithuania). How did it all start and why it's good?

11:00-11:30 | University experience :: Politehnica University of Bukarest (Romania). The university does not have a „qualifying“ maker space, but will share how they solve the issue

11:30-12:00 | How social sciences benefit from maker space :: Inventya (UK). Makers space are more related to engineering study programmes, but how social programmes and entrepreneurship can benefit?

12:00-13:00 | Lunch and making new contacts 🍽️ 💬

13:00-13:20 | Real case :: RTU Latvenergo creative laboratory – space for creation, making and dreaming (Latvia)

13:20-13:40 | Real case :: HEI MAKERS summer school at VGTU Linkmenų fabrikas (Lithuania)

13:40-14:00 | Real case :: Technariumas (Lithuania)

14:00-14:30 | How to start a maker space? :: Ludor Engineering (Romania). Ludor Eng is private makerspace and will share why they started, what were the challenges, were they are now

14:30-15:00 | Networking and coffee ☕ 💬

✅ HEI MAKERS is an Erasmus+ project aiming to increase innovation and creativity through partnership of higher education institutions (HEIs) and technical spaces. The consortium has developed guidelines on HEIs and technical spaces collaboration, training modules on technical creativity and technological entrepreneurship, organized workshops and summer school to pilot the modules as well as offered the makers community a Blender module for easier 3D printing.
