Join Mike Murphy, Quartz’ tech reporter, gadget guru, and lifelong space enthusiast as he visits Huge at The Midnight Cowboy to chat with renowned astrophysicists and innovators Dr. Amber Straughn, Astrophysicist, NASA; Dr. Alberto Conti, Innovation Manager and Astrophysicist, Northrop Grumman; Dr. Joel Green and Dr. Jason Kalirai, Astrophysicists, Space Telescope Science Institute. All are key members of the James Webb Space Telescope team. The James Webb Space Telescope is the world’s premier space observatory of the next decade. Webb will solve mysteries of our solar system, look beyond to distant worlds around other stars, and probe the mysterious structures and origins of our universe and our place in it. Webb is an international program led by NASA with its partners, the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency. Webb is scheduled to launch from Kourou, French Guiana in 2019. Learn more about this exciting mission and how the international team collaborated to design what will be the world’s most powerful telescope!
