** Please note: this workshop requires participants to install the Unity software package on their machine PRIOR to the workshop. This is a large, time consuming installation and the workshop will not wait for individuals who wait until the workshop to do the installation.**

Workshop Summary:

This workshop proposes to immerse you in a series of activities so that you can learn the value of Unity through direct experience. When you complete this workshop, you will know how to create a fully functioning game in Unity that can be shared with others. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Set up a Game in Unity

  • Create basic objects in Unity

  • Manipulate the Unity Camera within the game

  • Setting up the Unity work area

  • Coding in C# and using the Unity scripting editor

  • Building a final Unity game to be played on a desktop computer

1. One registration per person. If your colleague would like to register as well, please provide his/her registration information.

2. Our workshops are designed for NJ educators first and foremost. Please register using an email issued from the school at which you teach. If you are not an educator (industry, high school/college student, hobbyist) and you are interested in attending, please email buildingcsnj@tcnj.edu. If the workshop does not fill to capacity by the registration deadline (1 week prior), members of this list will be contacted for registration.


Where is the workshop located?

The workshop is located at The College of New Jersey. Information regarding exact room number will be provided via email a few days before the workshop. A campus map will also be provided at this time.

What are my parking options for the event?

For this workshop, you are permitted to park in Lots 5 - 7 on the College of New Jersey's campus. Please click here to view the campus map. Those requiring handicapped parking should email buildingcsnj@tcnj.edu to make arrangements.

Will Professional Development hours be provided?

Yes, a PD certificate will be provided at the completion of the workshop.

Is there a deadline to register?

Yes, registration will close a week before the event, but our events fill up quickly. We often invite individuals from the waitlist 1-2 weeks before the event when registered participants cancel.

How much does this workshop cost?

This workshop is FREE! A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
