Join us as we celebrate the United Nations global event The International Day For the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.

This FREE event will be held at the Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History, located at 101 Auburn Ave., Atlanta, Ga.

Atlanta’s own historian, Dr. Karcheik Sims-Alvarado, author of the book the Atlanta Civil Rights Movement 1944-1968 will have a one on one conversation with Miguel Lloyd of the Atlanta Black Chamber asking the question, "What happened after slavery?". Dr. Sims-Alvarado current visual Civil Rights exhibit can be seen on the Atlanta BeltLine.

Morris Baxter of WCLK "Morris in the Morning" will host. There will be an opening reception and a meet greet/book signing following the event.
