United for Literacy Roundtable - Spring 2017

Please join local educators, administrators, and community leaders to discuss the integration of designated ELD curriculum in the classroom and best practices in supporting ELL students in Santa Barbara County.
Our featured presenter will be Dr. Eugenia Mora-Flores, Associate Professor of Clinical Education at the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education. Dr. Mora-Flores’ research centers on effective practices in developing the language and literacy skills of English Language Learners in grades K-12. She also teaches courses on first and second language acquisition, Latino cultures in schools and literacy development for students. Dr. Mora-Flores is the co-author of Balanced Literacy for English Language Learners K-12 and an educational consultant for schools focusing on English Language Development (ELD), Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE), and writing instruction for ELL students.
