About the Book
Born in Chicago in 1929, Srebneski studied painting and sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago and at Laszlo Moholy-Nagy Institute of Design of Chicago. Soon his unique photography gained recognition and he was urged to visit magazine editors in New York City. He spent a few months in New York and Europe he then returned to Chicago where he was offered an assignment from Marshall Field’s department store. “It wasn’t a decision of mine to switch to photography, it’s just what happened. Photography was something I fell into and decided I wanted to do for the rest of my life, because I like it.”
Mr. Skrebneski will feature two of his books, Ageing & Seduced. In Ageing, Skrebneski explores many memories from his distinguished career and gives the reader insight into his life. The photographs are stunning, the words elucidative, and the reader will be amazed at the range of Victor's life. Seduced features a sampling of many of his flawless images of models such as Karen Graham, Willow Bay and Paulina Porizkova made his name synonymous with beauty.
The event begins with an 11:30 a.m. reception followed by lunch and the program at noon. Rick Kogan, ULCC member will interview Victor Skrebneski. Mr. Kogan has worked for the Chicago Daily News, Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune, where he is currently a senior writer and columnist.
