Event description

Description

At this Interdisciplinary ECR social event, Professor Andrew Turpin from the Petascale Campus Initiative will be speaking on strategies for becoming an interdisciplinary researcher at the early career stage. Petascale is the University's 5 year plan to increase data intensive research. More information on Petascale here.

We will also hear from our I-ECR Network planning group and how you can get involved in the new year with the I-ECR Network. There will also be plenty of time to mingle with other ECRs from across the University interested in all things interdisciplinary while enjoying the new Ian Potter Southbank Centre, the new home of the Melbourne Conversatorium of Music.

Who should attend?

The I-ECR Network is open to University of Melbourne academic staff across all faculties and institutes who are early career researchers/academics regardless of employment contract (honorary, continuing, fixed term, casual) and who have an interest in interdisciplinarity. Recognising that the label 'ECR' varies across disciplines, if you self-identify as an ECR/ Early Career Acacemic/postdoc you are more than welcome to attend.

Where is The Ian Potter Southbank Centre?

The state-of-the-art Ian Potter Southbank Centre is a 5 minute walk from the NGV on St Kilda Road or take the Number 1 Tram to alight onto Sturt Street.

We do hope you join us at this event.
