Understanding Trauma Informed Care
Overview
Trauma Informed Care
The importance of trauma-informed practice is a common theme in local Safeguarding Adults Reviews.
This workshop introduces participants to the core principles of trauma-informed care, highlighting how trauma can affect behaviour, relationships, and overall wellbeing. It will provide practical strategies for creating safe, supportive, and responsive environments for those who have experienced trauma. Participants will be encouraged to adopt reflective and empathetic approaches, recognising the importance of understanding individual experiences. The session will also touch on relevant concepts such as attachment, formulation, and the role of past experiences in shaping responses, offering tools to respond effectively, sensitively, and confidently in professional and community settings.
The workshop is open to all professionals working in Hammersmith and Fulham.
