Have you wondered why it’s important to buy local food?

Local food is now a mainstream trend, with more and more people seeking out fresh, local options for produce and other foods. And more restaurants are sourcing locally grown ingredients as well, often using the term farm-to-table.

But what is “local” food? How big of an impact does eating local food have on your health and the planet? And why is it important to know more about where your food comes from? This class is best suited for people ages 16 or older and facilitated by Ali Lawrence

Ali is the founder and owner of Spirit and Abundance, a company that seeks to help people connect and cultivate joy, mindfulness, and gratitude in a plant-based kitchen. She is a graduate
from The Culinary Institute of America with a degree in Baking and Pastry, and The School of Hotel Administration from Cornell University. During her time at Cornell, she studied Zen
Buddhism and that sparked her interest and passion in veganism,
