Understanding the Impact of Diabetes

Approximately 12 percent of the adult population in Hawaii have diabetes, exceeding the national average.* It is a serious and costly disease, but it is manageable.

People with diabetes face various health issues and incur an average of $8,500 in extra health care costs per year, which also translates to an average 5.5 missed work days for employers.**

What is the best treatment for Hawaii’s 142,00 diabetes? And how can we prevent diabetes in others?

Join us for a FREE seminar to learn how your company can become better informed on this topic, how the workplace may be affected, and how you can help.

Shelly Kikuchi, RPh, PharmD, BCACP, will provide an introduction and path to a better understanding of the following:

  • Recognize the impact of diabetes – a major health problem
  • Understand prevention and treatment of diabetes

A light lunch and validated parking will be provided.
