Overview

Learn how to spot and assess risk in domestic abuse - from coercive control to high-harm behaviours - and respond safely.

This 16 Days of Activism webinar aims to raise domestic abuse awareness and help get people to safety as part of our Know, See, Speak Out campaign.

Issues discussed include references to domestic abuse. Please consider this before joining.

This understanding risk webinar will be led by Zoe Baird, Designated Nurse Safeguarding Adults, NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB).

The webinar will focus on understanding risk in domestic abuse cases - what it means, how it’s assessed, and why it matters. The webinar will explore key indicators of risk, including coercive control, escalation patterns, and high-harm behaviours, and will provide practical guidance on how individuals and professionals can identify and respond to risk safely. It will also highlight the tools and frameworks used in risk assessment, the importance of professional curiosity, and how survivors can access support when facing heightened danger.
