Klasey Consulting is partnering with Lincoln Families to bring this training to Understanding Resilience to Better Support System-Involved Youth and Families Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras providers.As more providers are learning about trauma and becoming trauma-informed, it’s crucial to not only focus on trauma but equally as important to focus on resilience. Resilience impacts how individuals respond and recover from trauma. This training will provide an overview on resilience as well as ways to identify and foster resilience with system-involved youth, their families and their communities. The training will also provide strategies to better understand generational resilience.

Learning Objectives

* Participants will be able to explain resilience to system-involved youth and families
* Participants will be able to identify at least one example of resilience in individuals who have encountered trauma
* Participants will be able to identify at least 1 strategy to foster resilience in system-involved youth

Please note that in order to register for these FREE trainings your organization must directly work with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras only. Caregivers, including resource families, who serve youth in the above-mentioned counties are also eligible. Participants outside of these areas aren't eligible and will not receive the zoom link.

Dr. Kwonta Phatiphong is a registered psychological associate with 6 years of counseling experience in clinical and social service settings. She has experience in working with clients struggling with  trauma and crisis, substance abuse, learning disabilities, homelessness, and low and high functioning client populations. She is trained in substance abuse, Seeking Safety, TF-CBT, Motivational Interview, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Trauma Resiliency Model, and psychological assessments.
