Description

The Jacksonville Chapter of the United Nations Association is hosting a panel discussion in honor of United Nations Day at Jacksonville University’s Gooding Auditorium on October 21st from 3:30-5:30pm. The Jacksonville Chapter of the United Nations Association is a not for profit organization which advocates for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The panel will bring together experts and advocates from a variety of fields to discuss current issues and challenges for the global community in the areas of human rights and refugees. Kelli Meyer, from the United Nations Association of the United States of America will provide the keynote address on the topic of ‘Human Rights, Close to Home”. Following her address, she will be joined by Basma Alawee, Florida Refugee Organizer for the Florida Immigrant Coalition and Jose Vega from World Relief Jacksonville for a panel discussion. The event will conclude with questions from the audience for the panelists.
