Pensions is a key topic for trade unions and its members. There is no expectation that you need to know anything regarding pensions, as this course is will provide an overview of the pensions structure in Britain. This course will help union representatives to discuss pensions with members. The course covers 4 main areas:

  • pensions jargon,
  • state pension
  • workplace pensions
  • dealing with queries.

This is a 3 day course split over three weeks - one day per week - 9.30am-4.30pm

How long is the course?

This course will take place on 3 consecutive Wednesdays, on a day release basis. Please ensure that you have time off to attend this course and that you have checked with the appropriate union branch official or officer that you intend to take the course.

What are the entry requirements?

You must be an accredited representative from a TUC affiliated trade union.

How much is the course?

There are no course fees for union reps from TUC affiliated unions. Please be aware that funding restrictions in some areas may mean that the college cannot accept your application: if this is the case you will be notified which college to reapply to.
