We're introducing AIDS Survivor Syndrome (ASS) in our next town hall forum in order to begin to understand our long term struggle and hopes for the future.
Our generation, which continues to stare down HIV, in a time like the aftermath of a tsunami is facing a new plague. It’s called AIDS Survivor Syndrome. Emotional symptoms of ASS run the gamut from minor depression to at worse, suicide. In our next town hall we will learn and discuss the many other symptoms.
The 1980s and 1990s were a formative experience in fear, hardship, and unparalleled loss due to the HIV epidemic. We lost huge swaths of our loved ones yet we are still here! WE are the HIV positive and negative survivors from that time.
We’ll tell stories and listen to YOUR tales surrounded by folks who understands what we collectively are going through. For many of us who are feeling the effects a decade later these can be different challenges to face. We’ll also include stories of our resilience, strength and bravery as we begin to heal those wounds.
JOIN US! THIS IS A DISCUSSION YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS!
Remember how we came together in the worst days of AIDS and took care of each other? Let's do that again. Bring someone with you and join the hundreds of long-term survivors starting a powerful movement.
