Event description

Description

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act created the much talked about Opportunity Zones, a new investment tool designed to drive long-term equity capital to low-income communities nationwide.

Nevada’s Opportunity Zones have been selected, but what does this mean for development in the designated low-income communities and the array of organizations that serve them? How will state, regional and local stakeholders attract this capital and facilitate equitable progress?

You are invited to participate in a full-day knowledge-sharing event about Opportunity Zones organized by The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and The State Department of Business and Industry.

Please join in with national experts and Nevada based economic development professionals, community-based organizations, investors, developers, philanthropy, public sector partners, and other regional stakeholders to discuss the following questions (and more):

  • What do we know about Opportunity Zones and how they will work?
  • What types of investments will be feasible through Opportunity Funds?
  • How can local and state partners prepare for and engage with this new tool?
  • What roles can different sectors play to ensure that low-income communities benefit from and participate in the economic growth and development generated by Opportunity Zones and Funds?
