Event description

Description

Join UC Davis researcher Dr. Piri Ackerman-Barger and Yale University researchers Drs. Darin Latimore, Rosana Gonzales-Colaso, and Dowin Boatright for the Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Symposium: Understanding Microaggressions in Health Professions Learning Environments.

Drs. Ackerman-Barger, Boatright, Gonzales-Colaso, and Latimore will share their research findings on microaggressions. Coined by Harvard professor Chester M. Pierce, a microaggression is a brief, commonplace verbal or behavioral slight -- intentional or otherwise -- that communicates hostile, derogatory, or negative feelings towards groups already experiencing marginalization.

Lunch will be provided.
