Understanding Dyslexia -Community Education Series

Second Session:

Individualized Education Plans and 504 Plans for Students with Dyslexia

Monday, November 11th from 6:00-8:00 PM

Learning specialists at Children’s Hospital Colorado will be presenting and hosting informational sessions specifically related to dyslexia. Dyslexia is a learning disability that affects 15-20% of the population. Come learn more and develop ways to help your child reach his/her potential!

On November 11th we will cover:

o The process and components of an Individual Education Plan (IEP)

o The process and components of a 504 Plan

o The difference between and IEP and 504 Plan

o Helpful things to know before attending a meeting at school

o Suggestions on working with the school to get appropriate accommodations, modifications, and interventions
