Join us for a complimentary continuing education event hosted by The Emily Program. Presented by Kirsten Nielsen, RD, LD
Have you ever suspected a client may be struggling with an eating disorder? Have you wondered what kind of specialty care is available? We’ll answer these questions and more. Learn about eating disorder diagnoses, treatment options, and when to refer a client.
Participants will walk away being able to:
- Differentiate the various types of eating disorders
- Learn 3 different ways to identify a client that may be struggling with an eating disorder
- Describe 4 levels of treatment for eating disorders and what modalities are commonly used to treat eating disorders
The Emily Program maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Approved for two (2) continuing education units by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Also approved by the Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board to sponsor continuing education for professional counselors, social workers and marriage and family therapists. The Emily Program is offering two (2) hours of continuing education credits/units.

Kirsten Nielsen, RD, LD
Kirsten Nielsen, RD, LD provides clinical experience and expertise as a Registered Licensed Dietitian and Site Director at The Emily Program in Duluth, MN. Since 2003, she has been involved in many aspects of TEP’s Nutritional Services. In 2007, Kirsten helped open the Duluth office. It was The Emily Program’s first satellite clinic outside of the Twin Cities area and has expanded eating disorder treatment options for individuals in Northern MN. Kirsten earing a B.A. in both Biology and Food, Nutrition & Dietetics at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and graduated from the Mayo Clinic/St. Mary’s Hospital Dietetic
