Course Description

Understanding and Interpreting Children's Behaviors using the Sensory Profile 2 is a two-day course designed to teach clinicians the key principles of using a standardized measure to explain patterns of sensory processing which may influence a child's ability to participate fully in everyday experiences. Sensory processing is an important factor when interpreting children's behavior. In these two days, we will explore the evidence based concepts of sensory processing and how to use these concepts to identify, derive meaning and make plans for infants, children, families and educators. We will also examine the sensory processing aspects of contexts and activities as a means for making adaptations to support children's participation. There will be a focus on the population based applications of sensory processing which can be utilized to broaden our influence on policy and societal views of sensory processing enabling us to support all children within their interests and strengths.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants will:

  • Be conversant about the Sensory Profile 2 interpretation and standardization
