Description

What every entrepreneur needs to know about intellectual property and litigation, before it's too late, so we are proud to offer this introductory session to you absolutely free so you have every chance to proactively learn.

Intellectual property (IP) protection and legal services can be expensive for small businesses and startups. Yet many companies depend on their IP to confer a competitive advantage and to act as a container to hold the goodwill they create in the market.

Ariel will walk you through the key principals of Intellectual Property & Litigation including:

I Intellectual Property considerations

  • What are the different types of IP?
  • Patents, trade-marks, copyright and industrial designs
  • Practical considerations for acquiring IP:
  • What advantages and rights do they confer?
  • Am I entitled to IP?
  • Costs to acquire and enforce IP
  • Does it make good commercial sense to spend resources on IP?

II Litigation primer

  • What is litigation?
  • How, and in what situations can the Court or a lawyer help me?
  • What are the limitations of the Court system?
  • What can I expect if I am involved in litigation?
  • life-cycle of litigation
  • How do I avoid being sued or having to sue?
  • Tips to avoid litigation
  • Day-to-day business practices that can strengthen your litigation position
  • Considerations for IP litigation
  • Alternatives to litigation
